I assumed that the Kenya Jihadists were asking for the Shahada, the Muslim confession of faith. So did some of the hostages.

But survivors were telling horror stories. Among them was Dorcas Mwangi of Athens, Ga.

“It was crazy, because everyone was running,” Mwangi said. “People’s faces were full of shock and horror. There’s screaming.”

Mwangi hid behind boxes, and said terrorists were shooting hostages who could not recite a Muslim prayer. Her brother texted her crucial information.

  1. I agree, wholeheartedly. Just in the past couple weeks, this rednecky guy I know got all freaked out when I told him that, when I have kids, I was going to raise them to understand Arabic. I think Arabic and Russian will be very important skills for the future.
