About the name “Tamerlane”
It comes from the words “Timur e-Lang” or Timur(Iron) the Lame,since when he was young he was wounded in the leg by an arrow while trying to steal sheep from an neighbor.
Who was Tamerlane,or Timur-e-Lang(1336–1405)?
1.He said he was a descendant of Genghiz Khan and his capital was Samarkand.
2.Tamerlane was a Muslim,a great conqueror and a mass murderer.In his “Memoirs” Tamerlane says he killed 100,000 Hindu civilians,who had been captured when he took Delhi,only because they were infidels.
3.He killed 17 million Muslims and non-Muslims.
Who was Mikhail Gerasimov(1907-1970)?
1.He was an anthropologist who developed the first technique of forensic sculpture. He studied the skulls and reconstructed the faces of more than 200 people, including Ivan the Terrible and Tamerlane.Ivan the Terrible(1530-1584) was the first Tsar of Russia and murderer who killed thousands of innocent people,including his own son.
2.Gerasimov also confirmed that Tamerlane’s bones showed he had indeed been lame.
Tamerlane’s Curse
In June 1941 Stalin sent Gerasimov to Samarkand,Uzbekistan with a team to open the tombs of Tamerlane and other members of the Timurid Dynasty.On June 20,1941 Gerasimov and his team opened and took out Tamerlane’s bones.There was an inscription that said:
“Whoever disturbs my tomb will unleash an invader more terrible than I”
The Muslims of Samarkand had warned the Russians about it but to no effect.Malik Kayumov (1911-2010) was a cameraman in the Gerasimov’s team and he says that Muslims warned them about opening the tomb and a curse.
The result
1.Two days later,on June 22,1941, Hitler all of a sudden attacked the Soviet Union with 3 million soldiers.It was Operation Barbarossa(Redbeard),named after Holy Roman Emperor Frederick Barbarossa(1122-1190).He died drowned in a river on his way to fight Saladin and recover Jerusalem,which had been taken in 1187.
There is a German legend that Barbarossa never died but is sleeping in a cave in Germany and will one day wake up and restore Germany to its greatness and glory.We know that in 1940 Hitler had already decided to attack the Soviet Union,so it was a coincidence.
2.About 20 million Soviets were killed by the Germans,more than any other country in human history.Tamerlane had killed 17 million Muslims and non-Muslims in his career,less than those killed by Hitler.
Tamerlane’s bones are returned to his tomb
The story is that Stalin heard about it all and in 1942 ordered that Tamerlane’s bones be returned to his tomb with full Islamic rites in the Gur-e Amir Mausoleum (the Tomb of Timur) in November 1942.Soon after the Russians won the battle of Stalingrad,which was the turning point on the Eastern Front. Another coincidence.

That is the conclusion of Russian scholar Viktor Suvorov in his book “Icebreaker,Who Started the Second World War?”(1987).Other Russian historians have come to agree with him
It is very odd that this story appears on a supposedly anti-Muslim site, as it testifies of the supernatural power of Tamerlane or his God. But maybe Tamerlane was himself an enemy of Islam, killing many Muslims.
